Author Topic: What is your opinion on the "Ground Zero Mosque"  (Read 2918 times)

I would actually become irritated if this is the case. Can you please show your reference for this?
I looked it up and its being built only two blocks away...

It was on some video of the day thing on Youtube, it seemed like a legit source but then again it could be false. Ill tell you if I can confirm it

I think that this is kind of a good idea, maybe it could educate people about the different Muslim groups and how not all Muslims are terrorists. At the same time however I have to say that this seems like a deliberate move, like the people responsible for the Mosque are just doing this to gain media attention or to stir stuff up.

I say they should be able to build them wherever they want

I personally think that the decision to allow the building of the mosque is a good one. I can understand how it might seem offensive to some, but those people really need to get the forget over themselves and realize that not only are all Muslims not terrorists, but that America is a country with freedom of religion, no matter what that religion may be.

I would allow the mosque.

Philosophical statement alert.

What is the difference between patriotism and terrorism? None. One of my favorite quotes is "Patriotism ranges from a simple devotion to moral lunacy". People in the middle east probably think Americans are terrorists, as we (keep your "Americans are fat hurr" comments to yourself) are not letting them go to places of worship for their own safety. It's extremist Muslims that are responsible for 9/11. My best friend is a Muslim, and he is one of the nicest guys around. He is not bad, nor is he responsible for 9/11. As long as the people who are going to the mosque are not terrorists, it does not matter.

Ladios, eat stuff.

Two blocks in that area is very far. The very fact that you take any offense in something they have the right to do makes you a stuffhead.

They can do what they want, I don't care.

Quite fine with me, so long as it isn't on the site of the World Trade center. (As said before) That lot deserves something commemorative, but the Muslims near the area deserve a place of worship as well. c:

I can see why someone would be somewhat upset if they are in a grievous state, but just because some parts of the religion aren't exactly friendly with us, that doesn't make them all horrible. It doesn't make any of them horrible. You shouldn't persecute an entire group because some are extremists. Every group has their extremists, it makes them no better nor worse then the next.

All religion's stupid. If i had my way there wouldn't be any mosques (or churches or anything else) anywhere. (Of course I'd never force it on people, I think free thought's even more important than religion is dumb.

I used to disagree with you, but now I don't. Religion is pure human ignorance in my view.

An example, though not quite the same, imagine if a white supremest group set up a head quarters across the street from the hotel Martin Luther King was shot at. People would be loving rioting. I understand this isn't the same but its the only thing similar I can think of.

If it's not the same, then why using it as an example?

It seems you're using an extreme, dissimilar example to associate ALL Muslims with terrorism to justify your bigotry.
