TF2 Problem

Ok, so. I start up TF2, everything is normal, select my server, start loading. That's when my problem happens. As I'm loading, at a certain point, the bar just stops in it's tracks. I attempt to abort the download, but it doesn't work. So, I have to use Task Manager to exit TF2 because every time I attempt to load a server, it stops responding and doesn't even show an error message. I really want to play without having to get a new computer, but if nobody can help me, that will be my only option.

Verify integrity of game cache
De-fragment cache files
Delete and re-download

Have you tied just leaving it alone for a few minutes and seeing what happens? TF2 takes a long time to load.

Yeah.
The first server I join during a game session stops responding at "Retrieving server info..." for a minute or two, I'm guessing to load models and textures and whatnot.

Kata is right. Also, I had a server loading and it stopped. I let it do it's thing while I took a shower. 20 minutes later, it was still on the same place, loading the map.

And it only crashes right when it loads on cp_orange x3.
