Author Topic: Client-Side Ignore Player  (Read 376 times)

I assume this has been suggested before, but I'm putting one out there anyways.

There are many disruptive players out there who just whine their heads off, troll, or just spam a server up. It's usually only one or two players, it's enough to annoy you but you would still like to stay and enjoy the server.
On top of that, no one is around to deal with them (an admin who is away for a good period, dedicated server and none are on, etc). So it goes on and on till possibly hours later they leave, or you leave before that.

An ignore function would be nice, a simple /ignore name (along with an /unignore name function in case of a mistake) and their chat is blocked from your view.
No need for a mute mod or whatever. People could enjoy the server and easily ignore the nuisance(s) in the server.
Maybe even a .txt list of ignored players (similar to the banlist), that could allow you to view ignored players (could contain name and ID).

I don't see why this should not be made, and I believe it would be more useful/helpful then otherwise.
I would appreciate it if someone could whip it up, whether for public use or private.

I'm actually going to make this at some point, whether or not it gets made/has been made. Just because I need the experience.
