Consoles are made for games.
Gaming PC's could be called consoles by your definition. And the line is becoming quite blurred now-a-days.
I never play my Xbox 360. I would be playing my Wii, if only my sister's rabbit didn't chew the sensor bar wire >:(
All that's in the sensor bar is two infrared LEDs. Look online on how to make your own. Also, you could just rig your old sensor bar so it runs off of a battery.
Anyway, I own both a Wii and a 360. I rarely use my Wii. No fun games (Brawl is ok, but Melee is better IMO) and I don't have MH3. :(
I play my 360 significantly more than my Wii, but I don't play it that much. Almost all the games I own are FPS's, and those get quite boring after a while (except for Reach :D)
I have a few friends and a cousin with PS3s and those are constantly collecting dust.
But despite all that, I prefer console gaming over PC gaming.
I'd rather play my PSP than any of those other consoles 5 out of 7 days.
LAN
3 computers in one room
How often have you done this?
Also, I attend LAN parties quite regularly and they are nowhere as much fun as console gaming. I guess it's something about sharing a screen or about the fact that you know can't really "customize" your console to out preform the completion that lets you know that it was your skills that let you win. Also, the fact that if you want to go over to a friends house to play multiplayer console games, you just bring a controller. To do the same with a PC, you have to lug your whole desk with you. Heck, even a laptop is quite a bit to bring. Another thing is the banter level. Noone ever talks while they're on PC, but everyone is always yelling at eachother on a console.
