Gmod not letting play game

I got Gmod a few days ago from steam w/ counter strike and every time i try to play Gmod it said that there's a problem with the HL2, so i cleared my whole computer downloaded steam and Gmod and said the same thing

if any1 can help it would be nice

Play Counter-Strike.  Once you've done that, garry's mod should load up fine.

What?  I'm just saying that you should download and start up Counter Strike before Gmod.

i bought the games together and counter strike was downloaded first so i played that first and then bout 4 hours later i tried Gmod, but it didnt work

check the steamapps folder and see if the cache files are there, if not re-download steam and log in.

Try to not use cookie monster a lot.
It makes you look handicapped if you use it too much.
As in next time you do it on this topic.
And also, Marcem may be telling you to play Counter-strike: source after Gmod is installed

there is a dua folder thats empty
is that good or bad

I dont want to make another topic, but I have a similar problem. Whenever I start up gmod, it loads as normal. Then the blue loading bar has no text and the background is black. I move my mouse around and I can still hear the menu sounds.

For me Gmod is more stable with more source games so conclusion to JTs problem is, buy more source games?
