He did say he was going to make a better one though...
Well, leave Kalph be, since you can hug RTB all you want, Kalph isn't going to be forcing you to have Blockland cloud.
Most of the people who state a negative opinion against the idea of Blockland cloud are people who think RTB should be the only mod of it's type.

Tell me why we need another community manager add-on if the first one works perfectly.

but there SHOULDN'T be 2 mod managers...

unless kalph promises us tons of unique and useful features that RTB dont have, its the same thing we already have.
the same thing means the community suffers for it, INCLUDING those who dont even use it.

this isn't RTB and TBM again. those were separate "content" mods. it didn't matter then.
we are talking about "game feature" mods these days.

unless kalph promises us tons of unique and useful features that RTB dont have

Still, it would be tons of features we don't need.

Not necessarily, I've thought up of a few good ideas of my own.

Like what?

But it simply doesn't mean one should be wiped off the face of the game just because.
People have free to choose whatever they want, obviously competition might happen.
It's like throwing the new cookie in the garbage since you already have a stale one.

Oh,and Ephi, you shouldn't have put the original topic in drama in the first place, that's beyond sad, it seemed like you were trying to defend your own modification by moving the target into somewhere it will be exposed to hate.

He put it in Drama because nothing was getting done and the only thing in the thread was drama.

Ephi, tell me, when did Kalph say that he wants to replace RTB?
No proof? then that's your overgrowing pride at work.

No, RTB needs to be replaced.
Yes

RTB will be replaced.

I can't wait until RTB is put into the trash.

Aphtonites you're letting your personal issues with me cloud your own judgement, and it's also causing you to be unnecessarily rude. Try to behave and be polite or I'm going to stop replying to your posts. I get the feeling you still haven't read Wedge's post. If you wish to stay relevant in this discussion I strongly recommend you do.

I have avoided being rude, i wanted some proof, and thanks, Ephialtes, you finally come up and offer it.
It's just not many people really do the same, there's more flaming than arguing in this topic, personally.

People have free to choose whatever they want, obviously competition might happen.

they arent making money on this, so the competition argument is irrelevant.
i dont think ephi is really fighting for his mod's popularity, hes got nothing to lose if a million mod managers exist.

and no people arent free to choose. tell that to badspot and the TBM users.
in the end, its about what is best for the whole community.

another mod manager would harm the entire community. would be like a setback to the progress scripters have made and become accustomed to.

I see.
Well, seeing that, i guess that's probably a good point, and neither do i think ephi is fighting for his modification's status.
But i still don't think fighting fire with fire is a great idea, i'd just leave it be intil it burns.

retail RTB made a system for addon makers to set standards for their work, and organized the clusterforget of content that was the old blockland.
its what the community needed badly.

it didn't have to be ephi, it didn't matter. but RTB came first, and any other at this point would only split the users, making moth mod managers pointless.

It'd be what I recommend for RTB, it costs some £££ but since Ephialtes obviously has a well paid job it shouldn't be a problem... It's supposed to make download quicker on a server, basically it requires a computer with 3 terabyte hard drives connected to a reasonable internet connection...

Here is the basic plan: While a server is being hosted, it'll slowly upload downloadable files to the RTB server, thus when a person connects, will download the files from the RTB server instead of from the server... This method will bring problems which I have already thought about and solved.

I doubt it will happen, but will most certainly be very popular.

Exactly. I actually lose money making RTB - it's in my best interests to have the least possible number of users to lower my costs.

Residential connections have terrible upload speeds and all the available upload bandwidth should be dedicated to the players using the server otherwise it'll cause a lot of connection lag for them. It would also take about half an hour (or more) to upload all the content people have downloaded. I wouldn't say this was very feasible.

Content Downloading essentially does this anyway, as long as that server hoster gets their add-ons from RTB.
