When trying to run the downloaded version of Minecraft Alpha, I get the error message "Cannot create Java Virtual Machine."
Hao2fix?
And before you yell at me to go to the Minecraft forums, my response to that is that you guys answer faster.

mac version works... :)

but my macs too old to run fast.

Download java...?
I have the newest version of Java, installed correctly.

Did you search your error on google?

go on the minecraft forums, which has a support section that can help you a lot more than any of us.

not only that, but you've given us like no information about your computer or what you do to create the problem.

Let's see: I'm running Windows XP, and all I've done is downloaded the .exe file and run it. Then I get the error.

go verify your java installation.

if it's outdated or installed wrong it will tell you to do it again and give you a link to the newest version
