You'll find out how they managed to meet up with Left 4 Dead 2's cast, and at the end, will be able to choose for yourself which of the original cast dies (hence the expansion's name), rather than Valve simply pencilling it in.

Because you can download the DLC in Left 4 Dead or Left 4 Dead 2, Left 4 Dead 2 being more beneficial because you get the awesome stuff like melee weapons, a No Mercy campaign to play in with the Left 4 Dead 2 survivors (with new voice clips i suppose?) and you get to fight the new special infected

It's just one campaign from the original game plus the new DLC campaign, you can't play Dead Air, Death Toll, Blood Harvest, and Crash Course
