Yep.

I don't remember the name but It was a high recommended one for such a high wattage.

The Antec ATX TPQ1000 1000 Watt Power Supply.

I ordered my case last night and I am excite.

What should I order next? I'm thinking Power Supply.

I'm ordering my video card and processor last because prices are constantly dropping on those, and buy the time I order those it will e November/December and intel will have released their newest series.

Ah, I read somewhere (somehow) that you were getting a 550 watt one, but apparently that's just a false memory of mine.

1000 should be fine for many upgrades to come.

I can say that's some good computer part choices but I'm not too fond of the video card. I'd just go with the 460GTX 1 Gig. It's not a huge step below the 470 and you sill save quite a sum of money.

It came free with my case. That's where I mentioned it.

As I said in my original post, I chose the 470 because it supports 3-way SLI. The 460 only supports Dual-SLI since it is appearently not considered a high end card by Nvidia, Which I find silly.

Mmm...

I would highly recommend that you buy a new triple channel kit for a 1366 motherboard.

Also I would not use 3 way sli as a selling point. The thought of doing so is ridiculous. I also do not see why you are going with the 930 when the Phenom II 1090T is much faster and has unlocked multiplier. It would also let you take advantage of the dual channel kit you have now.

I would also recommend that you do not buy a 1000w power supply. That is simply ridiculous. Instead I would go with a corsair 850w or some such item.

EDIT:

Having owned the antec 1200 I do not feel that it is a good choice. It is very heavy and large; it is almost immobile. The cooling power isn't as great is as one would guess. There is not really any support for watercooling and at one point fans can only do so much. Beside that it is horribly loud so you will need a high performance headset to go with it...

I would suggest a mid-tower solution or at least a different full tower.

Protip: You will never need more than 8GB of RAM.

Of course, I plan on having 12 Gigs in total.

I'm starting with 4.

Did you read my post at all?

I'm not entirely sure what this is, please explain further.

The part I by far spent the most time finding was my processor. I searched and searched different benchmarks and specs and everything. At the first sight I had though the Phenom II would be faster. After doing a bunch more research I found it wasn't. Here is a good example AnandTech posted:

(Although the 930 is not previewed in this article, the 920 is. The 930 is better than the 920 so you can still see)

While It is rather high for what I need. I do plan on upgrading to larger, much better video cards such as the soon to be out GTX 580 which will for sure suck power.

I purposely looked for steel because I don't plan on moving it. Steel is sturdier than aluminum, and although heavier, I have no intentions of moving. If I do have to move it I'll get a cart my father uses at work for the stairs really.

You should note that the framerate difference is miniscule. I doubt that the monitor you are using is 120hz so you will not know the difference between 60 and 100fps. I meant in the long run. The i7 processors have been out for quite a while and frankly they haven't been updated very much. The phenom although something like 4 fps slower is a much better solution.

If you did your research then you should know what a triple channel kit is. Using two 2gb sticks in an 1366 motherboard makes no sense and may not work at all.

No card you ever have will suck up 1000w of power. If you intend to keep that power supply for 5 years I will laugh at you when it doesn't support the new high ends cards which will come each year.

I still think that your best bet would to choose an alternative to the 1200. I didn't exactly like mine. Sure, aluminum isn't as sturdy as steel but will you really notice? If you have never owned an aluminum case (I'm going to assume that you haven't) you should know that unless you intend to do jumping jacks on your computer sturdiness will not be a problem. I still would like to strech the fact that the 1200 sounds like a leaf blower.

I'll research the tripple channel kit but would you mind giving me a quick summary? I'm a little confused. I'm buying 4 gigs of ram, and will upgrade later to more.

The i7's are not sold out on NewEgg. I do indeed have an aluminum case now and it's sturdy, I have yet to lift it over the years seeing as I don't generally walk around with desktops.

I do understand your point at the 1000w. I'll definetly look into getting an 850w one or so.

A triple channel kit would be made specifically for 6 DIMM's. Obviously there would be a select pair of DIMM's that are set as master (e.g. installing dimms in the wrong slots won't do anything (usually the dominant color)). You would naturally need to fill three of the slots. Filling two might not actually post. A triple channel kit offers three dimms instead of two.

I wish I could explain it better. Just do some research and you should figure it out.

I'm really only experienced with Video Cards, CPU's, and Hard Drives.

I know what RAM is and what the motherboard does obviously.

I'm not to experienced along those lines though. Like, when you say DIMM's, I use common sense to assume that it definetly has a huge role in RAM. It could even be the slot DIMM's go in.

I'm working on this.

When I say DIMM i am usually referring too the slot in the motherboard. As you should know the 1366 motherboards have 6 slots. Arranged in two sets of three.

Very long link to triple channel kits on newegg...

Look for a good 6gb kit there. Any luck on that motherboard?
