Author Topic: Maybe we can have some new maps or unique add-ons?  (Read 2275 times)

I've seen a lack of unique interior maps or unique maps in general.

Same goes for add-ons. I'm just saying, maybe it would be nice to make a few new maps, The maps section doesn't get much new stuff. BUT The shard gun I was surprised by. It's pretty cool. I like it a lot.

Okay, I know we have T+T, but all of those are extremely inaccurate and shorter range. The bullets drop fast too with the exception of pistols and snipers. I don't MIND the T+T, but in it, there are no accurate, fast firing weapons besides the Assault rifle. Which still, isn't the best.

But I'd like to see some new unique maps or interior maps. Even if it's not released, I just wanna see what you guys are capable of :3

The modeling software for making interiors often costs alot of money...
Second, this stuff is harder to do than you think...

I like the idea, but it's not likely.

Hell, if I could do any of this, I would.

2 programs to make interiors, both of which are 100% free.  I only know of a couple that cost money and they aren't that expensive.

Still, I don't know jack stuff about modeling/scripting/mapping/ANYTHING

EDIT: I have blender on my other computer, not sure if it's a 30-day thing or whatever.

EDITEDIT: Also, I'm on a Mac, even though I have a lappy... my Mac is better due to desktop.

And my lappy sucks. inb4lolmac

Oh. I don't remember, I've had it for so long and haven't used that computer in a while.

Is Blender good for modeling for add-ons?

I never got the hang of it personally. I am going to try milkshape soon though.

I may be able to get the programs, but I still don't know anything about it.

Milkshape is easier to install and use, I got the hang of it quickly. Then I decided to try Blender, because I was only using the trial version of MS3D, which expired. It got me more confused than a moron trying to do a 10,000 piece puzzle.

So try MS3D. The only problem is that it costs money :|

I exclusively use MS3D, for a couple reasons.

First, it's so easy to use.
Second, my Tech Ed. teacher gave me his activation key, I never had to pay for the full version

MS3D only works if you then import into torque constructor and save as a dif...Why not just cut out the first step and build in constructor.
I have to admit though, when I use constructor I get wierd gaps in things due to ms3d being easier to use...

As for the topic title:
I don't see how you mean unique. Recently we've finished off the entire array of weaponry and vehicles. We've got homing rocket fighters, multi-grenade launchers, pills, wierd destruction items and everything else.
Unique just doesn't seem like the right request, and different is difficult.

As for the maps section being emptier, there is a reason for it:
It is easier and quicker to make a weapon than an entire map (except slate perhaps), and there is usually a lesser request for maps.

I have a ton of interiors. All of them are Blockhead sized DM's but I cannot host.

Edit: I mostly create castles, or city scape maps. Soon I will start Quake type DM's.

Bump: A demo of my TF2 based map coming up, all textures are made by me.
Here is your unique interior map.
