I had an Iguana a while back. He sat on a sun rock and.. sat there.. Not much else to it. I'm not exactly sure how my parents took care of him because it was 5+ years ago and I really didn't even pay all that much attention to him.

Get an African Gray. They are the most intelligent bird and can live more than 60 years! It can raise your grandchildren!

You can handle them as much as you want, they live a maximum of 15 years. I have one named Tetra and she's bloody awesome. :D

I have one, but she just went blind in her right eye recently. She lived about 25 years or longer.

But seriously, iguanas are cool. They're like dragons except smaller, can't fly and breath fire. Uh, maybe that's why you think they're boring since they just sit there.
But I've seen pretty active ones that can do tricks.
