A topic like this makes me realize how impossibly cosmically small out own planet is.

Stars that large are already dying, which is why they're large. Once they star depleting their helium, the outer layers start expanding. Larger stars also have a lower lifespan because they deplete their fuel source faster than smaller stars, and supernovae aren't really that common. Most stars simply die out.
