Author Topic: Macs In High School  (Read 3249 times)

I like the thinner keyboard better. But most teachers have Macs at my school.

WARNING: THIS IS NOT A HATE THREAD! No Mac vs. PC Flame Wars!

Well today was my first day of high school and I noticed something...

Macs, macs everywhere...

I wouldn't mind it so much if they were later models but they're kinda old I'm guessing since there's no right click. The keyboards are also weird as hell. It's like 1/4 inch thin and the keys barely press down it's almost like touch screen. Really hard to type on them. Who loving designed that? Anyways at least it's not too bad since some of the macs have Dual Boot so I can use windows. Then again emulators for macs usually suck. Actually emulators in general usually suck.
You turn on right click in the settings menu for the mouse.

It's a flimsy aluminum piece of stuff, but it's better than those solid-white and plastic keyboards that seemed to be a magnet for dead skin. Black keyboards are best.

Our school is primarially windows computers, they're Vista with windows seven for word and other programs, which is odd because the school is talking about the cuts yet we've got ten or so computer labs. We do have a small mac lab with the HD moniters but that's mainly used for movie making and the school paper. Yet the odd thing is we have some of the newest computer tech but our sports catagory is so underfunded.

Sports are dumb anyway.

In greece they give pay-checks so we can get whatever pc we want for school

i went through 6 years of IT schooling. we covered pretty much every aspect of hard/softwares. and programming.

not once had i even seen a mac lol.
how is that for post education in the computer world? all credited schools wont even acknowledge mac as a computer.

Riiiight

Right.

How can a school teach if everything you can learn would just as well be printed on the box?
Macs being simple are both their advantage and their curse.

My old middle school just started using Windows 7 laptops with Core i5 2.8 GHz.

forget life. Why do I get a stuffty XP Pentium M that can't even hit its factory clock rate.

were the macs the stuffty marshemallow looking ones?

Macs are made for slapping not for using.

At least you have Windows 7. Even if it is on a mac.

We have windows 2000.

:C

Macs are made to be thrown out the window not for using.
