Author Topic: Unlocked extra cores in my processor  (Read 1029 times)

So apparently the AMD phenom x2 555 that I got last month is designed very closely to the phenom x4. This means that although my cpu says it is a dual-core processor, it was actually meant to be a quad core. I found an article that said how to make use of the extra 2 cores. The only catch to doing this is that the extra two cores have a 50% of working. luckily, mine worked, so with a quick BIOS edit, I now have 4 cores to make use of.

Have fun with a non-normal processor. I'll enjoy my Core i7 with 8 total cores :cookieMonster:

not that you would ever need 8 cores. most games only support up to 2 or maybe 4
