Author Topic: "Demo Mode" for special internet servers?  (Read 1078 times)

ive been building my current build since before I even legally owned blockland... (Yeah shoosh. I bought it within a very short time)

point is, I got into the habit of SHOWING my friends my build, letting them walk though it ect.... however, now I cant do this anymore, which is a great disappointment to me and them.

Now obviously you cant allow demo users to join internet severs globally, that would be... basically taking away the whole point of buying it. but why cant there be special "demo" servers.

Say, just say I wanted a "demo server", to minimize the functionally, make every demo server be highly limited. For example, max of two people ( full version host and demo guest), a password (so that people couldnt just host demo servers for the hell of it and needed to litterally be trying to show someone something/convince them to buy it, with the demo user (and host) being unable to build for as long as the demo server is up. Basically, making sort of a "blockland viewer" mode. So I could show off my build to my friend. Since, obviously I cant just lend her my Key to look at my blocktastic city.

Yes , or , we could not.
Peopole who own the Demo should die/buy the game.

They couldn't DO anything in the servers. its actually worse then the current Demo functionality for LANs. but it would mean I could do more then send the poor girl hundreds of screenshots.

Buy blockland.
It is only €13

'I' have, but she doesnt even PLAY games. She just likes to watch what I do. She wouldnt even touch anything on it.

what about badspot's server, then let demo users use that? and 150 player limit per demo person, although other people can use as many as they want still

unless I could load up my build (which is VERY big) onto that, it wouldnt help much... but its a good idea. hrm
