One of the laws of motion:
For every action there is an equal and opposite and opposite reaction.

So, the magnetic field is pushing on the projectile, and the projectile moves forward, but then the magnetic field would have to move back an equal amount.

Long story short, It's gonna have recoil, no matter how the projectile is powered.

Also, I support this idea.

I like the idea but I thought of something like the
GameCube Golden Eye railgun with 4 rails, a couple second charge time, semi-automatic,
one shot kill, and entry. Maybe even ammo and secondary fire that
fires a shotgun-type burst of spikes and plasma energy (which also uses up the
entire clip and requires a full clip to perform).
