Author Topic: New player lights  (Read 1072 times)

1:Vehicle lights. When you have the player light turned on and enter in a vehicle, two lights appear in  the front of the vehicle, but aimed only at the front, not like the actual player light.

2:Lamp item. The "bulb" you hold when you use the light is replaced by a lantern model.

If you mean so it detects the lamps on the front of vehicles, such as the jeep, this would be pretty hard, but possible.
Good idea.

This would be good, and easier than the last one, still hard, just easier.
Good idea.

I'd say both are possible, and good ideas. I support.

i think the first thing would have to be made with the vehicle

I think someone should mod this into the default vehicles
Minus the flying carpet :/

I've heard that directional lights and vehicle-mounted lights are impossible.

 New engine required.

they're possible, with a side route
basicaly for the dirrectional light, it would spawn lights as you go out, with a raycast, that way it looks like it's dirrectional while it's really just a few normal lights
and why wouldn't vehicle mounted lights work i wonder

If a player/bot can have a light, then why can't an invisible bot(that is just a cube, or something that isn't purposed for its looks) have a light while the vehicle could just have a mount point in the headlight.

but if the mountpoint is there, why can't you just mount the light dirrectly?

Well, it'd be better if the add-on maker could have a way to define where the headlights are, because it wouldn't be too efficient to make a custom model for each vehicle, which would require the bot to extend its invisible self to the headlight.

that's why i think it would have to be made by the vehicle makers
