Would you LIKE to have Blckland as an app for iPod/Iphone despite any lag problems?

Ya sure.
No.
I don't got an iPod/iPhone :\

No.

Wtf? Why! This is just awesome idea!

We need this! For Ipad and Ipod touch!

I don't think this is. Now, if you want to make it for Xbox or Wii, that might be different, cause they can support more controls for this. The Ipad might be ok for this...

Try to play Blockland without a keyboard.

Plus, joining a laggy server, such as Badspot's servers, will probably explode your device. It would have about 30x the lag, and load 30x slower

And, it doesn't get Badspot any more money.

It could do for IPad, but not anything smaller.

I acctualy like the idea for it for IPad.

YEAH, forget DEM IPHONES. :cookieMonster:

A portable version of BL is possible.

I used the EVO 4Gs resolution as example to build an interface prototype. Clicking the "M" activates a drop down menu for your usual options (Save, load, quit, admin, etc). The "B" opens up the brick pallet so you can select different bricks. The items up top are fairly self-explanatory, just click to activate. Clicking the paint palet expands it temporarily so colors are easier to select. The brick menu lets you swipe through to select bricks from your brick selection, clicking picks the brick and activates build placement mode if you aren't in it already. Build-mode (not pictured) positions a transparent brick control set of arrows that let you move bricks horizontally, vertically, and lets you spin them.

The real challenge involved in building a Blockland for a mobile device is the engine. I'm not sure if you can get TGE working on a mobile device. If not, all of the optimizations that make BL possible would have to be remade. Badspot and Kompressor would be remaking the game from scratch in that case. A quick glance at the Torque site shows no signs of this happening soon. They have a version for Apple products though.

A more probably alternative would be to create a side-scrolling type of Blockland. It could be made in one of several engines available for mobile devices (perhaps even browser-based). Dare I say you could have more interactive physics in a 2-D environment?
My God your amazing. You would be the first one on the board for making ths. Amzing  :cookie: for you

Why did you bump this....

convert the Blockland script to the iPod
You really don't know what you're talking about.
And this would be awful on the iPod Touch. It has a tiny-ass screen, so you would have a clusterforget of buttons on the screen. Doing anything would be nigh impossible.

blockland is a memory whore. of which mobile products never have enough of.
and a remade small version of blockland will just suck anyways.

Hey guess what, I know how some of you are saying only ipads could handle it, well you are wrong, infact Iphones have an engine that is more than twice as powerful than the ipad, funny, huh.

I'm looking at this post and writing this with my IPod. Imagining Blockland on this is pretty nice but fitting add ons, saves, and the other stuff blockland uses would make my 32GB iPod explode. What happens when you get an add on with controls you need to bind? What the forget will u bind it to? Your index finger?
:cookie: to who can figure this out. -maybe they could take out some things for blockland iPod version?

No, it wouldn't even work. And this is the wrong category anyway.
