Should I get Steam? Im on a new laptop, with 285 free GB. Also are there any games I could get for free? Thanks!

Yes, Steam is free, takes up little room, and is safe. Why not download it?

It's a great platform, I recommend getting it.

There are actually free games, like:
Moonbase Alpha
Alien Swarm
And if you have a NVidia card, HL2:DM, Lost Coast. Also, there's an offer for ATI cards in which you can also get Portal free.

Windows Key + R, type in "Dxdiag" without quotes, hit enter, check display tab.
