The point he's trying to make is that the images made here are enlarged so that one may see what is occurring in said images, and that if going solely on the pixel count that he would be using if all the pixels were a standard size, the pixel count would be 70x100.

Its not counting the actual pixels in the image, its counting the number of giant pixels he used in the image. Its a technique used here to give the posts an 8-bit aesthetic.
