Author Topic: This .wav file keeps crashing my mom's computer  (Read 1804 times)

So my mom works at this office where everyone has to use this messenger called Barracuda. She asked me to get the song Barracuda by Heart then cut off everything but the first seven seconds and send her a .wav of it so she could use it as her start up sound. So I opened the .mp3 in Audacity and cropped it, then converted it to .wav and emailed it to her.

Every time she tries to play the file in Windows Media Player, her computer forgets up and repeats the last second of the file over and over again while cutting to the blue screen of death. Help.

Also, she uses Windows XP.

EDIT: You can download the file here, but be warned that it can apparently blue screen yo' ass.

I wouldn't know why it would crash unless she isn't opening the file correctly or something

she isn't opening the file correctly
how do you fail at opening files?

how do you fail at opening files?
You would be surprised at all of the things people can fail at.

I added a download link to the file in the main post.

Old WMP version?
I'll check tomorrow, my mom's asleep.

On the other hand, if anyone with Windows XP is willing to download that file and see if they die trying to play it, please do.

I downloaded it on windows xp with latest wmp and it worked perfectly.
