Author Topic: I may/may not be part of a game development team.  (Read 1589 times)

This kid came up to me on the school bus today and asked me if I play games. I responded with yes. He asked me if I played xbox, I said sometimes. He then said he is in a group that is trying to develop a FPS called Artifact. The game is about some faction opening a black hole to another galaxy where a special artifact is and the goal of the game is to find the artifact or something. He then wrote up some information and stuff on a piece of paper.

My guess is that it's just a group of kids that think they have what it takes to make a game, but I think I'll look into it more. I mentioned nothing to him of my novice blender skills. I don't really know how I'm going to deal with this situation.

Pretty weird going up to a random guy who plays Xbox sometimes and asking them to make a game with you.

I bet he thinks he can make an Xbox360 game that sells for millions just by dragging/dropping shapes onto a 2D platform and calling it a game. He probably wants you to draw sprites in MSPaint, but then again...

I can be completely shown up and be wrong  :cookieMonster:

Do nothing

Ask for money

Pictures Up, based on the positions he listed he actually knows some stuff.

If he can't even spelled editor right, what makes you think he can make a whole game company?

I was thinking this as I read it on the walk home, I'm also pretty sure he's a freshman.

No, he just read the credits of MW2.

Age doesn't really make a difference,  IQ does.

My younger brother has an above-average IQ, he's smarter than most seniors and he's a Sophomore.

But this kid is black.

Yea, I doubt this will happen, however my friend in RL can make a game :), a matter of fact, he's No.1 Out of our entire class (Grade wise).

I don't really want to get involved in this if it's for real. I think I'm just going to tell him that I'm more of a RPG kind of guy.

Just remember, if anyone says their position on the team is "leader" or "developer" or "producer" or some stuff like that, just leave then.

Don't do that, Say "You can't even spell you're never going to make a game you're going to end up homeless and unloved"
