UM MY CAT WAS UH SICK AND I PRAYED AND MY CAT WASN'T SICK A WEEK LATER SO UM YA GOD EXISTS

It's not a direct insult to your intelligence ad hominem, it is discrediting your expertise in the field. You claim to know enough about the religion to discredit it and it's followers as horrible, but have just posted completely, obviously, incorrect information about the religion.

Also, forgiveness of sins is pretty much the cover all excuse, I mean, why follow the rules at all then?
You follow the rules to not be an starfish.

Not going to lie, I am almost entirely sure the predominant religion of Egypt was Paganism, with multiple Gods, and each God about an element of life.  Also, Jesus was actually born in the summer.  There are 3 different accounts of what happened on the night of Jesus' birth, one of them being a star and 3 kings.  Another is a few poor shepherds that were hanging around the manger going into it and talking to Mary.  Jesus was a carpenter, but nice try.  Jesus was baptized before his 30's.  Healing the sick is a pretty common theme of being holy.  Crucifixion was very popular in the old world.  Jesus and God are not metaphors for the sun.

And the Jews had no idea about that Egyptian religion you are talking about.
Planck's telescope has recorded microwaves, the origin of which are believed to be from the big bang. That theory would be proving that the universe is not finite, and that the big bang happened. While this is only a theory, they have backed it up with data. Do you see anyone with proof of God creating the world?[
You truly believe that they found microwaves that originated from the Big Bang over 6 billion years ago?  Not from another star imploding?  Highly likely, really.

Not particularly.  Then again, the book is over 2000 years old, and hasn't been changed.  I think that if God were to send us another prophet, he would clear up some of the confusion.

But the bible is the direct word of god

But the bible is the direct word of god
No, it isn't.  It is the word of God put through humans, which then tends to have human error in it.  The belief is that God's message is perfect and pure, and that humans blemished it.

Do you know what you are talking about?

You really have no idea what you're talking about. You really thing scientists are that stupid not to be able to tell the loving difference? You are an embarrassment to theists everywhere. Do some loving research before you pull more stuff out of your ass.

You are clearly level-headed there.  What was wrong with what I said?

EDIT:

I'll grab some information about the movements in the sky relating to the story of Horus, Jesus, and many other religious figures.

The star in the east, Sirrius, is the brightest star in the sky. On December 24th it aligns with the three stars in Orion's Belt, which has been apparently named the Three Kings since ancient times. The three stars and Sirrius point towards the Sun rise on December 25th. The birth of the God's Sun on the Winter Solstice. The kings metaphorically "follow" the East Star to the Sun of God. The constellation Virgo is known as the Virgin and the glyph for Virgo is an "altered" M (hence why the virgin mothers always have a name starting with M). It is also known as the House of Bread, because it represents August and September, the time of Harvest. Bethlehem is literally translated into the House of Bread. As the days get shorter into December the ancients associate it with death, and by December 22nd the Sun reaches its lowest point in the sky, where it resides for 3 days under the constellation of the southern cross (crux). On th 25th it rises once again in the sky.

So, the Sun (Horus, Jesus, etc) died on the cross (Southern Cross, Crux, crucified), for 3 days, until it was born once more.

That is a great explanation for your so called "Saviour" and a good indication that the bible was merely explaining the Universe through metaphors, which was the only way to do so at the time.

EDIT: Also, one can be a teacher and still follow another profession. Google Jesus the teacher.

A small star would not bathe most everywhere with micro waves.

So you're telling me that it really isn't the word of god? Because i'm pretty sure it is god writing through humans

When scientists look out far far far into space, they can see light waves hitting us billions of years old because it has taken the wave so long to get here. We have an image of far off galaxies that are from when the universe was just a billion years old, and everything is very close together. Now adays like 12 billion years later they're spread out much farther apart.

you would know since you look at everyone's asses?

it is my chosen profession. it pays well, and I enjoy what I do.

Seriously Rave, just watch the video before you refute what I say. It's not like some user going on about stuff, it's a documentary, and a scientific one at that. It's basically describing astrological events and why they correlate to religion. I can't sum up 30 minutes and hope to do it justice.

EDIT: Anyways, this entire argument to me was simply a matter of logic, and mainly about your initial comment on the Big Bang.

Winter Solstice is the 21st or 22nd.

The kings metaphorically "follow" the East Star to the Sun of God.
Have you read through the whole thread?  That is one of 3 explanations of what happened on Jesus' birthday.  Also, he was actually born in the Summer.

The constellation Virgo is known as the Virgin and the glyph for Virgo is an "altered" M (hence why the virgin mothers always have a name starting with M).
Please give me the names of other Virgin Mothers starting with "M", I am unfamiliar.  Aside from the Virgin mothers:  "Maia, mother of Sakia and Yasoda of Chrishna; Celestine, mother of the crucified Zunis; Chimalman, mother of Quexalcote; Semele, mother of the Egyptian Bacchus, and Minerva, mother of the Grecian Bacchus; Prudence, mother of Hercules; Alcmene, mother of Alcides; Shing- Mon, mother of Yu, and Mayence, mother of Hesus, were all as confidently believed to be pure, holy and chaste virgins, while giving birth to these Gods, sons of God, Saviors and sin-atoning Mediators, as was Mary, mother of Jesus, and long before her time."

It is also known as the House of Bread, because it represents August and September, the time of Harvest. Bethlehem is literally translated into the House of Bread.
In what language?

As the days get shorter into December the ancients associate it with death, and by December 22nd the Sun reaches its lowest point in the sky, where it resides for 3 days under the constellation of the southern cross (crux). On th 25th it rises once again in the sky.
Interesting.  Jesus wasn't born in the winter, nor did he die in the winter.

So, the Sun (Horus, Jesus, etc) died on the cross (Southern Cross, Crux, crucified), for 3 days, until it was born once more.
A couple similarities, but most of your information doesn't appear to be correct.
When scientists look out far far far into space, they can see light waves hitting us billions of years old because it has taken the wave so long to get here. We have an image of far off galaxies that are from when the universe was just a billion years old, and everything is very close together. The Earth is 6 billion years old.  I don't think it took light longer to travel past us than it did Earth be created.  Should I stoop to your level and call you names like a child?
So you're telling me that it really isn't the word of god? Because i'm pretty sure it is god writing through humans
God wrote through humans, but the humans had to interpret his meanings, and had error in some.

I don't feel the need to because you don't even know when Jesus was actually born.
