The event saver is indeed awesome.
Elevators are quite a bitch, I remember going mad trying to setup an elevator before. I've learned a lot regarding variables now, but its a lot harder with toggling.

EDIT:
Do you have the RTB event saver, or Demian's? He made an option to move the events up/down so you don't have to mess up everything if something should be at the top.

Hmm I don't. If I forget up mass amounts of events I just edit the save and do it manually. :3
