Author Topic: Install my Minecraft painterly pack?  (Read 2465 times)

Now I know what your thinking, considering that you're thinking why  I didn't post in DropShock's Minecraft thread, so shut your loving face right there because I asked in that thread three times.

Guise I r have teh problem.

I go to install the painterly pack, which means I have to place the files in my Username, appdata, roaming, minecraft bin.

Problem? I don't have a username folder. I have an owner folder with an appdata folder, but no roaming/minecraft folder. Wat do?

Hey guys, I can't install my painterly pack. I don't have a username folder, as in my name. I have an owner's folder and a temp folder, but no minecraft folder. Is there an alternate way to install the Painterly Pack?

So save it. I'm also not signing up in the minecraft fourms only to make a single topic simply because one of you can probably help me with my problem, and I can lock this and we'll be on our merry way.

Now here's the scoop if you haven't read the quotes so far. My Painterly pack readme tells me to go to my c:\users\USERNAME\appdata\roaming\.minecraft\bin, but I don't have a roaming folder, which means I don't have any folders from there on out. Does anyone have any idea what I could do?

/Organize/Folder Options/View/Show hidden folders and drives

Then I think you can find it.

run > enter '%APPDATA' > ??? > profit

/Organize/Folder Options/View/Show hidden folders and drives

Then I think you can find it.

Thanks, that worked just fine. Do I have to give the pack time to render after I start my world? Because I'm doing everything the readme says but my skins don't seem to be functioning.

You have to drag and drop.

Such actions were executed.

Skins take effect immediately, because the old skin data is simply replaced.

Well somewhere I'm messing up. I extraced the Minecraft.jar file into a folder and then placed my skins directory (Not the folder) Into the newly created folder, and merged the folders that it asked me to.

Extract the files from the painterly pack, then move the extracted files into the .jar so they replace the ones already there.

You have to open minecraft.jar with WinRAR, not extract it.

Right click>Open with>WinRAR Archiver

Then drag and drop the skin files and folders into that window.

Ah, I have finally installed it. Many thanks to everyone who helped.

Now we go on our merry way.
