Can you make sutff shine like that in GIMP?
Yeah.
1) Set the wand's threshold to 255
2) Set the wand tool to "add to selection"
3) Click on each letter
4) Set the selection tool to "subtract from selection"
5) Select the lower half of the word/letters/whatever.
6) Change the foreground color to white.
7) Set the gradient to "FG to transparency"
8) Set the gradient opacity somewhere between 15 and 30.
9) Click the middle of the letter, or bottom of the current selection, and drag upwards to the top of the letter or selection.
