Games in order: Half Life 1, Half Life Blue shift, Half Life Opposing Force.

Characters in order: Doctor Gordon Freeman, Security Guard Barney Calhoun, HECU Corporal Adrian Shephard.

Information: In Half Life 1 you play as Doctor Gordon Freeman, an Age 27 MIT Graduate. You are known to be a 'cause' of a Resonance Cascade, and you fight your way through with every gun and tool you find. In Blue Shift, you play as Barney Calhoun, a age 22 Security Guard for Black Mesa. In Opposing Force, you play in the eyes of Corporal Adrian Shephard, age 20 (or older) HECU unit.

Weapons (HL1): Crowbar, Glock, MP5, Rocket Launcher, Satchel Charges, .357 Magnum, Gauss Cannon, Gluon Gun. Most of these weapons are in each game.

Cut NPCS: Chumtoad, Worker, 'Military Police'.

It previously ran on the quake two engine. If you want; I can dig around my previous websites and get you the links for ALPHA And BETA Npcs.

 In Half Life 1's beta/alpha you played as Isaac the space biker instead of Doctor Freeman.

I'm pretty sure it ran on the Quake 1 (IDtech1) engine the whole time, just heavily modified and including bits of code from IDtech 2 (Quake 2)

It used a modified engine of ID Tech 2. I believe it was called Sky or something like that. I know it started with an S.

ID Tech 1 was the DooM engine. So it didn't run on that.

HL1 runs off a heavily modified version of the QuakeWorld engine, which in turn is a modified version of the Quake 1 engine.
And it uses some fixes from the Quake 2 engine.
