Author Topic: How do I prevent overheating(RROD) on Xbox 360?  (Read 1378 times)

I might get an Xbox 360 next month so I want to know some tips to prevent the RROD/overheating when I'm playing. I know one way is to not play 24/7 but I never do. But is there any precautions I can take to make sure the RROD doesn't happen.

Lots of space for air exchange.

Keep it out of corners and stuff where circulation is faint

Put it in the center of a metal cage with a raised area for underneath it and have massive fans and vents and stuff blowing air towards it in all directions.

or put it in a open freezer

Would it be okay if I put it ontop our DVR? It has the top and both sides for free space so it shouldn't be too isolated.

Keep your xbox on it's side, don't put it on carpet, preferably plastic or wood. Also don't play too much, you should be fine.

Keep your xbox on it's side
No, this increases the breaking percentage by 34%

Uh, you keep it cool?
I mean, that's pretty self-explanatory.
