I'm pretty sure that the "Smooth" button smooths out the face, not enables smooth shading.

Actually, it sets "smooth" rendering of faces in edit mode. It works on cubes but not on my model.

Well, crap. Thats what Ive tried repetetively. It works on the cubes I have spawned, but not on the model itself. Fawk.
