Author Topic: Hacking Mod  (Read 2077 times)

Recently I've been playing Uplink (http://www.introversion.co.uk/uplink/) and I just got struck by an idea. What if someone made a hacking mod for blockland (Upblock anyone?)

For example, you set a password and a hacking difficulty to a brick and when a player interacts with it, they are presented with a "Enter password" field. It could be displayed in the chat, or maybe a GUI screen. Then, they can either enter the password, or try and crack the password, bypass security, etc. You could edit various settings such as password strength, trace time, encryption, firewall, proxy, etc.

After the brick is hacked, an "onHacked" event could be used to display info, make a door open, etc. Maybe there could be an "onHackFail" event too!  :cookieMonster:

I thought this was going to be a stupid topic requesting a Client-Side mod to edit server stuff.

Fallout 3 much?
Dun know, they have this in Gmod City RP :3

OnHackFail - Player - SpawnExplsion - NUKE.

Fallout 3 much?

I got the idea from Uplink, though now that you mention it, it does remind me of fallout 3...

Id like to see this be made. It would be a good edition to RPGs

Sounds like a decent idea.

What I suggest is, have players build places in a supposed cyberspace with special bricks, such as gateways that need to be hacked for passage and security turrets and so on.
