Author Topic: My Nintendo Zapper doesn't work  (Read 1530 times)

I just got an NES from the internet, and with it came 3 games and a Nintendo Zapper. One of the games was Duck Hunt, so I tried it first. When I tried shooting a duck, it didn't react. I didn't miss, because I had full ammo. Does anyone know why it doesn't work?

Are you using your NES on an HD TV?

Serves you right for hunting ducks. :c

Ducks, ducks. Sinister ducks...

No, the TV I play the NES on is an older TV, I think.

I'm guessing the Zapper is broken.

Sucks for you, Duck Hunt is goddamn fun :3

Yeah, I think so too.

I hate you. Pigeons are the best bird to ever live. Hunt crows instead, always thinking they're better then pigeons.

Crows and Ravens are starting to learn how to speak.

Maybe they'll learn how to hunt?

Hunting crows is bad luck.  :U

I know this, because my friend got dive-bombed by at least 5 other crows after shooting one.

I only skimmed this thread but I heard that you have to have a certain kind of TV for the zapper to respond to the duck properly. If it's a new TV, I think it has something to do with a difference in pixels or maybe the refresh rate.

Damn it guys, I found the problem. I used to have the normal controller plugged in when to start the game, and then I unplugged it and plugged the Zapper in. My dad e-mailed the seller, and he said that you have to have the Zapper in the 2nd connector.
Problem solved.
