Amnesia. I found it better than Penumbra in a lot of ways. Still gives you the feeling that you're trapped, and something very bad is going on that you're having a hard time getting away from.

Got the demo to dark descent. I was in the part of the gsme where you need your lantern, but I had been using it before I went to that part. I took about 8 steps and my light goes out. I nearly loving stuff myself.

Just played the demo, I love the style of that game, the architecture, the atmosphere, and the game looks fantastic, I'm going to buy it as soon as I have money to spare.

Dead Space can get scary at times, though try The House 1 and 2. Both browser games, both really scary.

Try STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl. If you get a total conversion mod that updates graphics and tweaks the lighting/textures, the underground labs can be damn near literally pant stuffting, especially if you play them at night.
