Well i think i am finally going to get one, I just need to know the ins and outs of it before i possibly embarrass myself asking a pharmacist for a credit card

Dont they suck.
Theres type one which charges you a monthy fee (~$3-$5), and theres type two that doesnt but it charges you for withdraws from an ATM. Downside is both their customer support is ass. When I got the second type I put money on it and then tried to use it and it said it failed to authorize. I called support and was transfered to a South Asian helpdesk where they tried to get my to fax over my Social Security Card and Passport to prove I was me. She even admitted that they were scamming me out of my twenty bucks, though I dont know if she actually knew what that meant considering her grammar was horrible.

Oh they also have a $6-$7 fee for the card plus a minimum deposit of $20 onto it

You need a bank account for a paypal card, and if you already have a bank account why not just register for a card from your bank?

If you dont have one get your mom to set you up a student account or something

what do you mean
You can register for a debit card at your bank and get one tied to your bank account

Easiest option is to just give the money to a family member who has a card and ask to use their card, the next option is to get one of those crappy prepaid ones, register it, hope it works, and then spend the money

I wonder if you can buy a prepaid credit card (like a giftcard, but can be used with paypal) with cash and use a proxy to make untraceable online purchases, I would think so, but I don't have any reason to.

i use debit for everything in my life.
only fools carry cash or checkbooks.

Get a gift card. You can use it like a credit card and once the money runs out the card is effectively dead, meaning if you do use a dodgy site they can't steal anything.

I've used gift cards to purchase Steam games and buy products online.

Do this but remember if the vendor is outside of the your country it won't work.

I simply spend my parent's money.
