Black Widow venom very RARELY kills human beings (63 deaths between 1950 and 1959, before the development of modern antivenom). The myth that it's deadly comes from superstition. Deaths related to black widow bites were generally people being bitten in sensitive areas (i.e. getting bit on the richard while in an OUTHOUSE for example) or from untreated bites (places without medical care). Even the most potent US Black Widow's venom typically just results in fever, muscle cramping, and diahhrea (symptoms common to almost every spider bite). Not to mention there are quite a few species of Black Widow, ranging in venomous potency. Honestly, as long as there's a hospital in range, the chances of dying from a Black Widow bite are pretty slim.
