Author Topic: Jailbreaking iPods  (Read 3249 times)

They made Pirating legal in the U.S.

I cant jailbreak mine. Mine is software version 4.0.2. Anyone know how to jailbreak it without downgrading?

Apple said it's fine if you want to jailbreak, just they advise not to. So, jailbreaking is not illegal.
It's funny because they support jailbreaking the iPad, though.
I think.

wut? No

I have the 1st generation, so it doesn't jailbreak.

Offtopic: When I hear jailbreak, it reminds me of dodgeball in elementary. With little kids yelling "Jailbyeak!!!1"

It was ruled legal a while ago. They even have a Jailbreaking app.

It's only illegal if their T&C states you can't.
Funny because terms and conditions cannot get you into legal trouble unless it directly has to do with copyrighted material or theft.

Jailbreaking is legal (Apple wasn't too happy), but I don't think you should charge as it's super easy to do.

why jailbreak?

if it cant do what you need it to do, then use something that can. half assing your way around it with modding is just the idiot way to go about it.

Says you. Modding is awesome. It's more than just a "lazy work-around" technique used by people who don't want to pay for things. It's a way to express creativity. A way to improve technique. I dare you to try to replicate any of the things found on any good modding website and tell me you could do it "lazily".

but it costs MORE to do it on these products then on alternatives.
equally and even better alternatives as well.

As long as it hurts Apple I'm for it.

Jailbreak,

IT ADDS MULTITASKING :cookieMonster:

there are like 4 HTC and 4 droid models, all better for doing the things you want.
stuff, dell is making something called the streak coming up here.
and there are even non phone touch screen electronics that are fine for running anything you need.

jailbreaking only allows you to run things that normal software wouldn't allow.
well why not then just use a toy that allows it? at least that way software is supported. and warranties arent broken.

This is the same exact issue with mac users emulating windows. at the price of feeling all tech savvy, they lose out on hardware, support, money.
