Author Topic: Steam - Only works in offline mode?  (Read 647 times)

For the last 3 months, I have been unable to use steam.

I tried steam support, it didn't provide any help.

I can run it in offline mode, but everything supposedly requires online mode.

I changed the download region, didn't work.

Holy stuff. It's pissing me off. Most of my favorite games are there, and I have no access to them. It used to always work, but then it just stopped working. Has anyone got the same problem? How did you fix it? Does anyone know how to fix it?

Please help.

Mine's working fine.

Try reinstalling?

theres this thing to do with the internet and steam
but i forgot what it was

This happened to me once.

I reinstalled.

Goddamn I hate reinstalling.

Oh well.

I didn't have much installed at the time.

remember to backup the steamapps folder before you uninstall though
i decided backing up my 100gb steam folder was taking too long like a week ago so now i have only like a third of my games installed :u

Okay so.

I reinstalled, but guess what.
It still doesn't work! :D
Best part is, it refuses to update! Now I can't use it at all! Thanks for wasting $100 worth of games steam! :D

Nothing has been lost. You just can't access them at the moment.

Try deleting everything in your steam folder other than the actual application and steammaps. Then open steam.

god damn where is that guy who told me the thing about the internet and steam.
