The giant planar slope behind the capture point is a great advantage.
Me and my squad of "Goons" earlier today were having quite a ball holding
down Space-bar and screaming at the people trying to capture the point
below us as we glided towards them.
Reminded me of some war movie, but when we had about 4 people (not
including myself) careening down the mountainside, the people in the fort
would really stuff their pants in text format. The funniest part is when the
novices tried it; They would collision-kill themselves by smashing right into
the fort! Haha! ..but not before having a Blue-Team member take their
Stick Grenade to the face!
Also; The Stick Grenade, although extremely handy in the hands of one who
is capable enough to use it, seems to be used the most in whichever game
it's implemented in. That might be a sign for you to change that. I'll admit, I
personally am one of those people who abuse it alot; However, if the
temptation of it's sheer destructive power were to be removed, I think the
gameplay and balance of the Fortwars would be slightly increased. The fact
that everyone uses it kind-of cancels out it's cheap ability, so it's really up to
you if you wish to make killing a bit more of a challenge.
You should also replace the pills that drain health over time with the other Pills
(I believe made by Iban or something) That heal a portion, rather than just
sugarcoat your healthbar for a brief moment.
Vehicle system is very-well executed; Saw a ton of Exchanges, sabotage, stealing,
stunts and high-speed chases.
Weapons are fairly balanced; Considering that they both all have the same
weaponry at their disposal.
The MAIN thing that bothers me is the HUGE advantage that the red team has
over the blue team in terms of Geography. It's much more difficult for a Sniper to
hide in Open landscape (Red) than it is to hide in a Dune-riddled environment
(Blue). I think this also has a number to do with Attack patterns. Most of Red's
attack patterns are focused on the rear of the Blue fortress, while the Blue fortress'
attack patterns are mainly executed on the side or the front of the Red's.
As a player on both teams, I thought I'd give some constructive criticism.
I'd like to see it made better in any way possible.
Tons of potential, and great execution. Just not great
ENOUGH.
Personally, I'd give it a 4 out of 5.
