Author Topic: I have a question about an external hard drive  (Read 1293 times)

The Seagate Expansion 250 GB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive is a hard drive that isn't too expensive, and I figure how can a company make a bad hard drive?

I just want to know if its a good hard drive or not. c:

If you pay me ill show you my “external hard drive”

Holy crap.

I can get a 1TB External hard drive at Wal-Mart for exactly that amount.  :cookieMonster:

Looks fine to me.

I agree, it'd be hard to forget up.

I can't find whether or not it is a solid state.

I think it would be?

I got one, it broke. I sent it back, I got a 500 GB back  :cookieMonster:

Jesus christ, guys, I don't need that much room on my computer, what the hell would you do with so much. D:

I'd save up for a better one, if you can.

250GB runs out quicker than you'd think.

One of my Christmas presents is going to be a 2TB External hard drive with 450 Mbps transfer rate, USB, etc. YEAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH

I have an unlimited music subscription and this thing that legally takes off the DRM so I can save it to my computer and give it to my family.  I'm going to download music and movies and put them onto the hard drive so I can move them around easier.

I worked over the summer and have 300 left, so I can get a TB if I really need it, but I don't know if I will.

You will never need 2TB, you are spending money you really shouldn't :P

I highly doubt it, judging from its size. I have a 500GB one that's even thinner than that and it quietly hums and vibrates whenever it's in use, telling me that it is not an SSD.

Hm.  That is a problem.

I need 1TB.
Do you recommend a specific brand?

It for sure is not a SSD.

Hm.  That is a problem.

If you're looking for lots of space at a low price, SSD is the way to go. You won't find a 250GB flash memory drive for the same price.
