there are a million different "drugs" and the most dangerous ones are still totally legal.

the legal status of substances has really nothing to do with safety. its all a political game. with corporations and money to be made.

Exactly. Who gives a stuff about safety if money is to be made?

I said nothing about medical marijuana. Nothing. I know about what it's good for. I'm talking about smoking it. One is cancer treatment, and I understand why you feel strongly about the subject. My grandmother died two months ago, of caner.

I don't know what to trust if all the websites I've read and the two days of notes I took from lectures about such have been claimed wrong in one post. How am I supposed to know what's true if every source of information I've used has been false.

Still, you're right about assumptions. Assuming characteristics of one's personality is wrong, and I shouldn't have done that.

At least you fessed up, that's more than I can say about many other people on the forums, so at least props to you on that.

Honestly, anything you've heard about drugs in school is almost all misinformation. They quite literally lie to your faces in lectures about drug use (I know, I've been there in the DARE program), they're ultra-conservative about it, and it's dangerous. Rather than teach you about being safe, they just cordon-off that entire section of knowledge for kids. I understand why they do it, to keep kids clean, but it's extremely dangerous to reciprocate misinformation to children. Honestly, if you want good, clean information about Cannabis or other recreational drugs, talk to users that maintain a healthy lifestyle and social life. I know it seems biased, but responsible users are the most knowledgeable about what they use. http://www.erowid.org/ is also a good sight for information, as they cite and date all of their sources and provide a vast array of information about the effects, health-related information, and various little quirks about almost any recreational drug you can think of.

The truth is pretty much the polar opposite of what we learned in school: Drugs are not "bad", they are not ethically corrupt, and they will not damage your lifestyle if you moderate and use in a responsible manner. Look at the Native Americans, they use Peyote (Mescaline, an intense hallucinogenic) culturally. Remember, use over abuse. That's all it really boils down to is personal responsibility. Don't misunderstand me though: There are *some* types of drugs that should not be used recreationally, and again, it's important to be knowledgeable and responsible before trying anything, including alcohol, nicotine, caffeine, cannabis, or thc synthetics. In all actuality, a coke user can lead a healthy lifestyle with willpower, moderation and responsibility.

I have to say, it still looks unappealing. I see it has quite a few good effects, but the negatives outweigh the positives. Especially since 'neutral' has a lot of effects most would find negative in the first place.
Quote from: Neutral
   * general change in consciousness
    * increased appetite, snacky-ness
    * slowness (slow driving, talking)
    * change in vision, such as sharpened colors or lights
    * closed-eye visuals (somewhat uncommon)
    * tiredness, sleepiness, lethargy
    * stimulation, inability to sleep (less common)
    * blood-shot eyes (more common with certain varieties of cannabis and inexperienced users)
    * mouth dryness, sticky-mouth (varies with strain)
    * interruption of linear memory; difficulty following a train of thought
    * cheek, jaw, facial tension / numbness (less commonly reported)
    * racing thoughts (especially at high doses)
    * time sense altered (for example, cars seem like they are moving too fast); time dilation and compression are common at higher dose

I know that some of these don't always happen, but I haven't even posted the negatives yet. I just don't think it's worth the risk.

Medical marijuana is entirely different. I know that it's useful, and this doesn't apply to it.

I just smoked 2 bowls of fire, then a bowl of head trip (synthetic x50).

Jesus loving christ.

I'm sure you'd feel differently about those "neutral" effects if you actually tried it, otherwise people cannot understand exactly how it feels if they just read the "effects" off of some site or something.

It's one of those things you gotta' try to understand, then it all makes sense.

Actually, you don't experience any of those negative symptoms while smoking, those are only possibilities. You really need to have smoked before to understand the typical high, essentially the only things you experience are:
Quote
POSITIVE
-mood lift, euphoria
-increased giggling and laughing
-relaxation, stress reduction
-creative, philosophical, abstract, or deep thinking : ideas flow more easily
-increased appreciation or awareness of music; deeper connection to music; increased emotional impact of music
-increased awareness of senses (eating, drinking, smell)
-change in experience of muscle fatigue; pleasant body feel; increase in body/mind connection
-pain relief (headaches, cramps)
-reduced nausea, increased appetite (used medically for this)
-boring tasks or entertainment can become more interesting or funny

NEUTRAL
-general change in consciousness
-increased appetite, snacky-ness
-slowness (slow driving, talking)
-change in vision, such as sharpened colors or lights
-closed-eye visuals (somewhat uncommon)
-tiredness, sleepiness, lethargy
-blood-shot eyes (more common with certain varieties of cannabis and inexperienced users)
-mouth dryness, sticky-mouth (varies with strain)
-interruption of linear memory; difficulty following a train of thought
-time sense altered (for example, cars seem like they are moving too fast); time dilation and compression are common at higher doses

NEGATIVE
-coughing, asthma, upper respiratory problems (people with asthma should not be smoking anyway)
-paranoid & anxious thoughts more frequent (This only occurs if you're predisposed to being paranoid anyway, like me)

HANGOVER / DAY(S) AFTER
None, though sometimes users like myself experience an "Afterglow", where waking up the next morning feels euphoric

That list lists ALL effects cannabis CAN have, not all of the effects that you experience when you smoke. The neutral effects are not extreme at all, though sometimes I get gnarly cottonmouth.

go forget a dinosaur narko

bold are what i've experienced

bold are what i've experienced
I've had 'em all.
Most of those are permanent for me.
Drugs+stupid+internet=what

I've felt nausea before, but that gets fixed if you eat something. Always eat something before you get high, like a sandwich or something. Eat more after though.

Just wondering guys, do you feel down right hungry, or do you feel like you just need a slight snack?

Gah, stop bumping this awful topic.
