Self-explanatory. Players could be muted, banned from voice chatting in case of spammers, blablabla.

Yes and no, cause touqe engine cant handle voice comms. like Flight Sim., Combat Arms, ect. This has been suggested quite a few times with no results.

Where did you get your info from?

Tribes 2, the mother of all Torque games, HAD voice chat.

This was stated in BoA Episode 3, and I believe Maxwell stated that he won't do it if it doesn't give Badspot more money.

Ah yes but Blockland current touqe engine cant support Voice I believe.

Every time Badspots issues an update, it's a new build of the engine.

It would be annoying. Chat messages are simple and more controlled, not to mention it's just overall better. And anywho, you'll have to mute a bunch of people at one point. If someone's just blaring music in the background, mute 'em? Then mute someone when their mother tells them to clean their room repeatedly? And ban the spammer, and ban the guy making a gratuitous excess of cusses? And how are we to censor it for the soccer-moms who are afraid their little darling child hearing someone say something inappropriate? Will their be a mic sent to you when you buy Blockland, will those who have it already have to drive to Badspot's house to get them? Will their be a Blockland approved mic, or just everyone buying their own? What happens when there are twenty or more players, all trying to get heard by screaming? Then there's the problem of team chat for deathmatches and voice commands and whatnot.

There's a stuffload of problems, and a stuffload of work. It's not as simple or enjoyable as it might sound. Teamspeak is fine, but that's where it should end.

I personally love voice chat, but in a game like this it's a lot more work than it's worth

The Torque engine is not the Tribes 2 engine, but rather a heavily modified version of it.
Also, if you look around the TorquePowered forums, there is talk from people wanting to implement voice chat, meaning it isn't in their already.

I don't like that idea, what if the Admin is the host's best friend and doesn't get him muted?

It actully can handle voice chat/commands, etc.

If it can already handle it then why are people talking about how to implement it?

It is available to TGE. Badspot and many of the Blockland community don't want voice chat.

guys if you have a headset with a microphone and you plug it in and talk the other people hear you on their speakers. It Works. No need for ReTourquing

no....not at all there has to be a physical script/touqe setting or whatever that carries the voice signal through the game, if all games worked like that you discribed someone could be playing FSX, and your on blockland and you'd always here Charlie 357 your cleared for takeoff runway 34R. lol, maybe not but still.
