Author Topic: Chess Playertypes  (Read 1444 times)

Pretty basic. Chess playertypes. King moves slowly, Rooks move Forward,Backwards, Sideways, But not diagnoly,
Queen Moves fast. Bishop can move diagnoly (Only), Knights can just be horses.

Of course, models for them too.

interesting, although you could just event bots :D

Model too.
 :P

I would, but I can't model.

But, to move diagonally, you have to hold either the left or right arrow keys with the up arrow key
Therefore the bishop cannot move

Event the bots to go where you wan't, that sounds very hard. Just make playertypes like Psp said and people are the chess pieces.

They can hover in the air when they move.

I'm not sure the movement would be practical, or indeed, with the case of the bishop, possible. The playertype models would be nice though, and then bot events can be used, or players could just walk around, following the rules of chess.

Heard of the Pawn type Player?

"Event the bots to go where you wan't, that sounds very hard."
You learned combinations in math right?

Thats alot.

Like...Alot.
Too much for blockland to handle I would assume. So it wouldn't just be very hard.

"Just make playertypes like Psp said and people are the chess pieces." if you made the models, or someone did, you could just use that and normally have the players walk. As Corbiere said.

However
I'm not sure the movement would be practical, or indeed, with the case of the bishop, possible. The playertype models would be nice though, and then bot events can be used, or players could just walk around, following the rules of chess.

Players walking around would be inconvinent, because you would need...32 players (Hey the default max of players you can have!)...Plus spectators, and the real man in charge...And the max players I've seen is around 30...Only on REALLY popular servers, such as Moppy's, Wizzard's, Etc.

So...Bot events would be interesting, BECAUSE we have this nice event known as "SetPlayerAsVehicleControl" or whatever, so you can have a little control panel, that lists all your peices, But then you would need to mark each peon,The 2 Knights, Rooks, And Bishops so you know your selecting the right one.

Then you could click on the tile below to go back to player move, and if nessisary end the timer (if you even have one on the chess set.

EDIT: Thumbs up for not explaining what SetPlayerAsVehicleControl is. (can someone post a link to the add-on, too? I misplaced it.

not that difficult

OnBotActivate > SetMovement > Named brick > B3

+ Model.

OnBotActivate > SetMovement > Named brick > B3

+ Model.
i would actualy launch it a certain distance, that way if something gets in the way, it stops instantly, it works for knights, and less named bricks as well as less eventing

OnBotActivate > SetMovement > Named brick > B3

+ Model.

And...Well, you would have to put diff comb's on it, because what if its Ie a Knight going from A3 to C4

What if you want it to go to C6?

this.
would still take a while. but not too long, considering what you're trying to make.

i would still try to event it just for the sake of it.  :cookieMonster:
