I agree with his rule, but I think he should be a little more lenient and only ban the people who SPAM the guns. Like, the ones that dive for every item you drop like trout after a piece of food, and then proceed to spam said item in the face of everyone in the server and order everyone around as if they could do damage outside a DM.

Oh yeah, I think we're all in agreement that it wasn't the rule that was bad, just the enforcement of it and lack of warning.

I only built a brick, got a gun, flew over him, didnt shoot it, and he says "no guns or ban" and without warning for me to drop it, I got banned 

Basically sums it all up that he will instantly ban you after telling you the rule
