Beta version of Lego Wolf3D released....

Well there is a mod which is recreating Wolf3D in 3D...

One of the reasons I used Lego is that it is a lot easier for me to model compared to most other characters.

Remaking an old game on Source as a mod is neat, though, because Source is fun to mod and play around with. Like Goldeneye Source or Perfect Dark Source. Source is just universally fun, and even better is that mods are compatible with Garry's Mod.

You don't seem to understand that you aren't creating any original ideas in this game. You are just copying things that have already been done.

So these forums just aren't negative towards my game - people here are also negative towards other forums and youtube...

Firstly, it's almost exactly the same. Secondly, that's handicapped. I'm well versed in Wolf3D, I played it back in the day before I could speak coherently, and I bought it immediately when it came out on XBLA. Thirdly, we're not "negative", we're realistic. Negativity would be tearing you down "just because", we provide constructive criticism and you ignore it or invent excuses.

What do you want me to do about me being a "child"? It seems you want me to remove the nudity and headshot cheats, as well as dismemberment, and burning alive features.

Sorry for ignoring "constructive criticism" such as this but a majority of people on other forums and on youtube like the game and also I haven't finished it yet...

I can't please everyone and to please you it seems I'd have to redo just about everything and it's not worth the effort. If I listened to you and made better models and animations since the current ones are "sub-par", it would take even longer than it took originally. I'm not sure what to do about the "misplaced and inconsistent" sounds... I started off with the Wolf3D PC sounds and then added the ones from MacWolf and the German ones from RTCW.

Anyway, there are three ways to approach your posts... obey them, "ignore" them, or "invent excuses". Like I said I don't have enough time to redo the whole game just to please one person. And even if I did that it won't guarantee that you'd say anything positive about the game. I mean you might just say that it is "acceptable".

Hopefully you will understand why I'm going to "ignore" you and/or "invent excuses".

Most people I come across think that it is a good game (except on the Blockland forums). I think it has some things that need improving and then it would be an ok game.

I'm a fan of both, but quite frankly, your game is garbage. Like I said, there's no reason to play it over much higher quality games or just Wolfenstein 3D itself.

I think this could be an ok game if it wasn't so all over the place.  This isn't even close to being Beta worthy.  I would really make it a work in progress.

Well I'm winding down work on the game... after all according to yuki "you should really move on and start a new project". That's why I call is a "beta". I'll try and add some more features but I've done about as many levels as I want to do.

What do you like better about that alpha version compared to the current beta version? In the old version the weapon took up too much of your view...
