Author Topic: Item props  (Read 1639 times)

So I was being inspired by the very few "feature films" created via Blockland on Youtube, and realized that some of the videos lacked a few basic props. We currently have a few, such as the camcorder, chocolate bar, sandwich, wrench, torch, glowstick, etc. However, things such as handcuffs, books, water bottles/glasses, cigars, and other miscellaneous items are not present, or I have yet to discover on the forums/RTB. If I am to eventually find time in my busy schedule, I will attempt to take up modeling from scratch, and perhaps, create some of these. In the meantime, however, I leave it up to those who can actually script out there.

So, here are my requests:

Handcuffs
Preferred features:
-Player holds hands up (Like that of a zombie, or that of a hug) with handcuffs on the hands.
-No hand model used. Players will not see their hands in first person, so the hand color will not be limited.

Flashlight
Preferred features:
-Flashlight is actually modeled to that of an actual flashlight. (None of this printer crap)
-Flashlight model is facing forward. (Direction of the player's sight)
-Light (bulb) of the flashlight glows, visible in the dark.
For you complex coders out there:
-Flashlight does NOT have to emit a light. However, if possible, that would be greatly appreciated. (A stream of light, not a ring of light.)
i)If you don't wish to make the light visible to everyone, try out a client-only option, lighting up a circle of their view. (Kinda like item_nightvision, but not your entire view, just part of it. I don't know if that's even possible, but if it is, that would be preferred over everyone seeing the actual light.)

Lantern
Preferred features:
-Practically the same thing as the flashlight, but in the form of an old-fashion lantern.
-Lantern would be held via handle, and dangle below the hand, perhaps slightly out of view of the player wielding it.
-Glow would hold more of an orange hint than white.
For you complex coders out there:
-Same as the flashlight. It can emit a light, but this one can go in all directions; a ring of light. Shouldn't be as complex to code.

(Cell) Phone
Preferred features:
-The screen is lit up, but doesn't have to glow.
-Either a flip phone, or touch phone... or both!
For you complex coders out there:
-Perhaps some sort of option where you raise your hand (And phone!) to your head, like you're actually calling someone!
  i) Perhaps it could also work like the spear. You click (Holding down left mouse might become a nuisance), and you raise your hand to your head. Click again (Or release left mouse), and you will return to holding the phone in your hand again.

That is all that I can think of for now, but if I come up with any new ideas, I'll add 'em in here. If anyone out there has an idea for a prop, go ahead and post it. If it's a decent idea, I'll add it to the list: but make sure to say what the preferred features are. (I might add on to them. –uo)

Note to those who consider and/or make these:
The detail doesn't have to be extreme. These are just props, and shouldn't be regarded as the king of add-ons. Simple, but legible, is what I'm leaning towards. If simple doesn't work for you, you can go into detail, but it's not needed, nor requested.

DISCUSS.

No first post for you. (If this topic even gets any consideration taken into it, I will be surprised.)

This is a good idea, too bad i cant script for it.

The cell phone is a great idea, WAIT! Idea!

Make it so the cell phone works like a private chat with someone.

What about like a friends list cell phone? its like IRC or whatever it is called where you can talk to people but you can also look at what online (or offline) server they are on so if they wanted you to come you could and get there easier and faster sort of like the friends list on habbo hotel...

I've got an old flashlight made by Pandan. You type /flashlight to use it and type it again to put it away. It's not the one with the printer model in case any of you thought that. Ill try find it for you if you want.

EDIT: Okay...wasn't made by pandan but this guy. I know it says link removed but one of the other links still works i think. Click.

I made a coffee mug today. I was thinking the same thing you were. its just that i don't know what to do after i have the model done.
