What are you talking about, cats can be taught tricks and they are loyal/reliable.

But can a cat fight off an intruderererere?

That depends on the situation. Some cats may be able to, some may not. Some dogs may be able to, some may not.

EDIT: There was some article long ago in the news about how a cat saved his owner's life from a mugger. I'll try to find a link.

Cats CAN be taught tricks, but since dogs are a bit duller it is much easier to teach them.
Cats may not always come when you call them, unlike dogs. Sometimes they'll stay out-of-reach.

But believe me, I love cats.

My cat sleeps on me, and acts like a dog

comes to me when i ask to come

Cats, but I'm allergic to them. Oh the irony!

But I prefer no animals.

My favorite was dogs, until I slept over my friend's house on the sofa and woke up with a little kitten on my lap, It literally stayed there for 5 hours minimum (We went back to playing games) and it was awake for about 3 of those hours. That took the cake, now I adore them.
