I thought that watching this would help me realize what this song meant to pop culture.

Personally, I'm a classic rock/Metal person, but I do have some old (I mean CLASSIC, by the way) hip/hop before it took itself seriously. Those times were when the genre was at a peak.

As far as rock goes, I like punk, but more along the lines of Hardcore. I do like the remixes of Pop/Hip-Hop/Rap that those bands create. A good example would be the songs found on the Punk goes Pop albums or the Punk goes Crunk album. There is also a Punk goes Classic Rock album which is pretty good as well.

You really don't do Green Day any favors by saying Good Riddance is their best song. Really, that song is incredibly overplayed. Sure, it's a decent song, but at some point you just need to cut back. Arguably, their best songs come from their earlier stuff. I'd probably say Minority or Basket Case is their best, even though I really enjoy their newer stuff more.

GG Allin, if anything, is hardcore punk. Avril Lavigne is pop punk to the max, while Green Day is somewhere between punk pop and just watered-down, American punk rock.

Rock because Rap was pretty much correctly stereotyped as long overrated jumbles of words that are related to drugs, love, love, and sometimes wealth. Not much else goes on over there in Rap.
