On the prison break level, I picked up an AK-47 and-

THAT ISN'T AN AK-47. Goddamnit. They managed to get the features wrong on a kalashnikov, the most iconic weapon in the world. It's probably a loving reskin of the MW2 AK model, and nothing more. Plus, the Russians would be using 74 models at the time, NOT 47 models. Augh.

I still think it's just a reskinned MW2

It's true.
Treyarch has some good level designers and mappers, but their writers and game design leads are obviously heavily misinformed and/or generally lazy.

So how much of this review is actual opinion, and how much is just over excitement?
1 month from now, you should re-review, and see if all the scores hold.

I have a feeling the excitement of a brand new game is boosting the scores.

I actually wasn't excited at all about the game. When I bought it I was like, holy stuff this is actually good.

you went into the game expecting it to be bad, I assume

see, now, a person like me who is now expecting it to be good after reading your review is going to be disappointed because I know it's just another MW2

It's actually not. The gameplay is quite different than MW2. Black Ops gameplay took more of an approach of more intense and tactical gameplay rather than whoever just shoots first.

well at least they made run n' gun a feasible strategy ..

+1 anti-camping huehuehue

On the level with the aircraft and the rts thing, one of the objectives was "plant the C4" or something, so i did, and I stuck a little thing to the wall an-

Wait a second. Hold the loving phone. That's literally THE MODEL FOR THE SEMTEX STRAIGHT FROM MW2. UNCHANGED. UNALTERED. Wow, A-loving-plus.

I've been hearing a lot about this gun game. Is it like the Gun game mod from CS:S?

Flaming dogs ate me.
What.

Yes

Yes
Then I'm going to tell people I liked gun game before it was cool

People say it's reskinned but in truth they took the best pieces from CoD4, MW2, W@W, and even CoD2 to truely make the best CoD ever, lol.

Just kill yourself

Anyway, I beat the game, and it wasn't nearly as bad as WaW, but it wasn't great either. I liked the incorporation of numbers stations, but eh. The best level was the boat level where "Sympathy For The Devil" played, during vietnam.

The multiplayer, however, they changed quite a bit. Props to treyarch for getting off their fat asses and doing something. I actually really like it, for some reason, maybe better than MW2. Where treyarch fails, they make up for it in level design.

Also AK-47 isn't an AK-47 how did they forget that up oh my god
