Author Topic: Facepunch hosting malware?  (Read 3067 times)

Whoops my faulty eyes.

It's a large forum so it's possible google just picked a random topic with a exe and detected (maybe falsely) something naughty.

It's not a huge deal anyway. I just was wondering if it was just Chrome. I'll keep going to it anyway, I have Avast, just in case.

Maybe it wanted google users to not use facepunch.

EDIT: What version of Chrome are you using? I got to that page with the "More information" button:

What version of Chrome are you using? I got to that page with the "More information" button:
Were using the newest version. You have an old version.

Damn it! Facepunch does have ads btw.

Then it's a adverts fault.

Then it's a adverts fault.

If not the adverts, Google probably found a link to a site involved with malicious software somewhere on the forums. I remember these forums popped up on Chrome's warning before because someone posted an image hosted on imgur.com, which at the time had had issues with malicious stuff being hosted on it.

Were using the newest version. You have an old version.

Looks up to date to me:

but there's only ads if you don't have an account

no wtf, i always see ads on facepunch even with an account :/ forums dont even work if i turn off adblock

He's a super moderator, making a version of facepunch for mobile phones, or something.
He sometimes DDoS's FP
Nope, He's in charge of Facepunch's coding right now.
And I don't think he DDoS's Facepunch "sometimes" it's just that the coding/server sometimes forgets up and you get errors and slow speeds.

I also get this for the Blockland forums sometimes.

Got the same warning :o

Firefox is coming up with the same thing.

Add-ons:
Adblock (Nightly build), EasyList USA
