Author Topic: PC FPS gamers more skilled then 360 ones  (Read 10154 times)

PC gamers could be more skilled, but one test with one group of people can't prove much.  An experiment must be repeated two or three times before it can be considered a fact.

Well, the results were conclusive enough for Microsoft to scrap an entire project. I'd say that proves quite a bit.

Well based on what the story said it was one team (probably of 4) of console players against another 4 PC gamers.

8 people can't completely represent millions of people.

Oh look at that, I could have bought 2 Xbox's and Kinect for that bullstuff.
If you bought the latest Xbox consoles as they came out...

1) Xbox. $300 launch price. Not counting controllers or anything that you'll probably want.
2) Xbox 360. $300 launch price for the bare bones version. Not counting controllers or anything that you'll probably want.
3) Kinect. $150.

So you've already spent far more than I have. Your original figure is also forgeted up because 2 Xboxs would cost more than my figure even without the kinect. Dumbass, learn how to do simple math.

And that's not even counting (this is about when the figures break down from 'actual fact' into 'estimates')
4) replacement Xbox(s) because the original(/last) one broke.
5) controllers and all that stuff
And the lack of all the things you can do on a PC that you can't on an Xbox.

Overall, the price comparison just doesn't really work. With some work you can get a good computer for around $1000 and pop $500 on upgrades over the years. Keeping up with consoles over that period will get you up around $1000. The abundance of extra things you can do with a computer well makes up the quaint $500 difference.
And if you're someone like Bisjac none of this really matters at all.

-Snip of mass amounts of bullstuff-
PC's are a stuffload of money, and Xbox launched 8 years ago.
That is most likely 2 PC's in order to stay "up to date" and "more graphically advanced than Xbox" as many of you have already said.  That is more than 1500, most likely, for 2 PC's.

Also, a controller is 30 bucks, not too pricey.

And finally, Xbox replaces your Xbox with a RROD or the black screen error with a brand new xbox if you had it for less than 3 years without any extra warranty.

And no, Xbox will not cost anyone more than $600 if you were to buy them as they came out.  And even still, it is so much nicer to play with your friends on a couch than with your friends across town, so the controllers are so worth it.

And play splitscreen so it's like reading a where's wally from across a loving solar system?

Get a decent sized TV.

42" is perfectly fine.

I have a 42" lol
I still find it impossible to play more than 2 player splitscreen, which is inconvenient because my group of friends consists of around 6 people

so guess what
we play PC games and get and entire screen to ourselves.

Flash games don't count, that's moronic.  Also, not all flash games are FPS.

But thanks for trying.
Your argument was that PC gaming is dying. Not PC FPS gaming. Not all steam games are FPS. Not all 360 games are FPS. Not all Wii games are FPS. Not all PS3 games are FPS. Where are you going with this?

Well I really don't care too much about the forum user's opinion of me.  The people calling me idiot are moronic themselves; they think I am stupid because I have opinions contrary to theirs.
Saying something as a fact (ie: PC gaming is dying) isn't really an opinion. That's like saying that I can have an opinion on whether or not my clearly solid keyboard is actually solid. I cannot say "in my opinion, it's a liquid". Because it's simply false.
Also, Chrono thinks that when he insults and argues with people that he is helping them to become a better and smarter person.  Who thinks like that?
Someone not ignorant. Someone who can understand better than others. It is helping people. The ones that actually realize their mistakes and can admit they're wrong. Of course you wouldn't understand this. Don't try and turn people against me because you lack sense.

They haven't given any evidence that there are more PC gamers than Console gamers.
It doesn't loving matter which has more people. You fail to defend your original point so badly you have to drag it out to even more irrelevant and insignificant factors?

And play splitscreen so it's like reading a where's wally from across a loving solar system?
Put on some loving glasses.

You cannot complain till you've played on a TV less than 30", on a 4 player game, which already used small text. Phantasy Star Online. I could still read it just fine. (without glasses because I don't need them)

You're a moron, I said earlier that I've had this PC since a year after the Xbox launched and it cost me less than $1500 total including upgrades and fixes. As I also said, it's very good.
One PC. As long as you're smart enough it isn't hard or expensive to keep a current PC.

Again, the price of your console gaming adventure will never be far enough from the cost of a good computer to make a difference, except to small children who don't have jobs.

Anyways if I were to play with my friends on a couch (generally not the coolest thing I could do with my friends but whatever) I wouldn't want to play a shooter with poor controls on an incredibly small mini-screen with them able to see where I am and what I'm doing.

I wish I could have my computer on the couch

"more graphically advanced than Xbox" as many of you have already said.
where has anybody said that in this thread? you're the first to
maybe you should stop making up quotes :D

I'm not trying to turn anyone against you, most people on this forum are similar to you.  You are actually quite the forgeted up person.  You truly believe that you are better than everyone else.

$1500 is more than $800, if we are to include 3 extra controllers and a wireless headset into the Xbox's price.

It's called chilling with your friends.  We don't actually talk about videogames when we play COD at my house, we talk about school, girls, and make jokes.  Games don't really matter.
And to Phflack:
Yeah so instead of having great hardware that performs well with the newest games, you can have a console with 6 year old hardware that causes the games to suffer.

Oops double post.

(Going to edit)
You're completely ignoring my point. The price difference isn't enough to really matter to anyone except little children without jobs. I'm going to say it again in bold so maybe you'll read it this time (this is like the third time I've had to re-post the same thing) The price difference isn't enough to really matter to anyone except the unemployed(e.g. children).

Dont know where I inferred that you talked about videogames. I'm just saying my idea of 'chilling' with my friends involves something less silly than playing shooters on a couch.

Yeah, I'm sure a kid in college or a recent college grad wouldn't love to have an extra thousand dollars in his pocket.

Yeah, when it gets to be 11pm or so me and my friends play cod because we don't want to get attacked by drunks.

What I said was an opinion.  An idea can't die, so it is clearly an opinion.
If an idea can't die then why did you say it was? Are you admitting to lying?

I'm not trying to turn anyone against you, most people on this forum are similar to you.  You are actually quite the forgeted up person.  You truly believe that you are better than everyone else.
I love how you ignored the more significant part and then attacked me. I don't see myself better than anyone. I see what I'm better at and what I'm lacking in, as I see in everyone else.
The problem is that too many people deny their faults. This is why I do what I do.
Self righteous? Sure. Some would say that. I call it belief. Just how people believe in science or greater beings. We all believe something, right? That's how we develop our futures.
