Quote my post to see how I put the images. To display, they must be hosted on the internet or directly accessible to your PC. AKA, they must be uploaded somewhere. You can't just give the location on your PC and it magically hacks into your PC to save your files.

When you want to use an image in a post of yours, you have to upload it to a website such as tinypic.com.

Once you've uploaded it there, you'll be given a link that should show up like so:

http://i55.tinypic.com/28hjad.jpg

If you add image tags to the link like MegaScience showed, it should show up like so


(Just an example.)

So, all together, your post should contain

Then you can press "Preview" at the bottom of the new-post page to see whether you did it right or not before you actually post.
